Shame on the Hillsborough BOCC
Where is the leadership? Where is the outrage? Is the BOCC in bed with Kevin White? Who elected these people? Oh wait, we did.

Are any of my Tampa friends as outraged as I am that the BOCC let Kevin White have a “do-over?” Where’s the outrage (and accountability?) What kind of message do you think the commissioners are sending to our kids that they let this little piece of crap have a “do over” after he costs the county nearly a half a million bucks (defending his sexual harassment case in which he was found GUILTY!)?
Why don’t they stand up to him and tell him to go pound sand? Why haven’t they called for his resignation? You wanna know why? There isn’t a one of them any better than Kevin White. They’re all afraid of pissing off some small constituency of supporters. And they all have fragile egos and a low sense of self-esteem which prevents them from doing right. They are all, in a word, politicians.
But we elected them. We get what we deserve. Where’s the outrage? Throw all the incumbents out. And lets let the taxpayers get a “do-over” — for once!

Good work Chris. Way to stay on it! Although, I do not agree that there are none better than him on the Commission I commend you for holding their feet to the fire and for raising the issue. He should have been held accountable for his actions and not been given a free pass by his fellow Commissioners. Is it clear that the “do-over” absolves him from his responsibility from an ethics standpoint and renders the complaint moot? This sounds to me like the toothpaste is already out of the tube.

I have lost respect for a lot of the repubs on the commission. I expected them to get rid of this man or atleast do the right thing on this re-vote. you are right, they have let us down and sent the wrong message to our kids about right and wrong.

This year’s campaign issue should be to include renegotiating every union contract to reduce legacy costs in the future. I”m voting for whomever is willing to go and stand up against the union’s blackmail. We tax payers are getting screwed by the love affair our politicians have with the unions getting their way. 50% of the Counties budget is unaffordable payroll. It gets worse as our heroes retire. Every city, county, state and federal retirement and health care costs will bankrupt us in the future and no politician is willing to stand up for us taxpayers. Out with the incumbants.

Jim: We’ll just wait and see. As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t change the fact that he cast an improper vote. That he got a do-over doesn’t change that fact.

Our Country is totally out of control. I don’t care if you are Republican, Democrat. Independent, Conservative, Liberal or Moderate; it is about that the elected officials realize that they represent us and we pay their salaries. This is a classic case of Obama in your face politics, ” I don’t care what the people think, I only care about my agenda !” Our founding fathers are rolling around in their graves of what is happening to this country !

I agree with comment #4 (Andy57) to a point, regarding Ronald Reagan’s “Quote”, however do you think he was including RINO’s? —- I don’t! If Hillsborough County eliminated Civil Service (we are the only County of the 67 counties that still has this department) and ended the duplication and waste, we could easily save over $100,000,000 (100 million) per year. However it takes strong political will and “No Fear” of ruffling feathers. I say this as it hurts anytime the taxpayers are “Burnt” but we also need to start focusing on smaller government and less taxes, rates and fees and recognizing those who do this! Thanks Chris. White showed he was scum as he was fighting his Aunt for City Council, and progressively got worse. The horrible news is that the idiots who elected him are still as blind as they were then. It would burn my britches if I had to sit next to him at a meeting. He ought to be in jail, devorced, and if he has any children I hope they turn out better than him.

And stop using that lame leftist straw man to try to justify it. No one has told the Muslims that they can’t build a mosque. Those of us who oppose are saying “don’t do it THERE.” There are zoning ordinances across the nation that dictate where various businesses and other organizations can build. This is no different. There has already been discussion in NY about allowing this bunch to put the mosque somewhere else. But now that Obama has (again) stuck his nose in where it doesn’t belong, things are escalating out of control.
