Thanks to everyone who responded and said they would send an e-mail or letter to Verizon. If enough people got ticked off and expressed their concerns they would do something because ultimately these people don't care what you think, but they care how/where you spend your money.

Comments by e-mail:

Chris:
I'm a Brighthouse customer, but thank you for bringing up the Fios filth problem. I will at least email them and let them know that the filth problem makes it much less likely for me to ever consider switching to their service.

By the way, in my opinion, the general filth and gore and inappropriateness on cable tv, and other tv is horrible, not to mention the movies, and I appreciate your writing to your company. I should write to Brighthouse and let them know that I don't appreciate their lack of standards, either. I don't have children, but the ads and trailers for other programs that are displayed on regular programming hours are gory, violent, and disturbing, and make me sick. I hate to think children see so much violence and overt sexual innuendo.

Thanks again --
Lisa

Chris

I really hate these bastards who have absolutely no sense of propriety, shame or decency. You are like the little Dutch boy. You can plug this hole but 17 more will immediately spring a leak.

The only way something like this will change is if Ivan Seidenberg's daughter calls daddy and tells him that granddaughter Sophie was watching Dora and blah, blah, blah.

They will do nothing until it becomes personal for them.

Robert

Perfect timing Chris.... we are trying to get FIOS service here in Woodbridge (internet and cable) but they apparently dont have service in this area.... even though Comcast has the entire market and Fios keeps sending us literature to sign up today... but they claim they cant give service... I was about to look up Ivan's info.... so thanks for sending it to me and saving me so much time and energy.

I cant believe thy have trailers on kids shows like that..... especially for horror flicks... how inappropriate. I hope you get a positive response. I dont think you are the only person who has that problem and they should think twice before putting that stuff out there.

Betty K.

Chris - Thanks for standing up for family values!

More of us need to be more active in this area.

I copied you on the original but had your email address wrong.

God bless you!
Terry

Chris, I agree with you on many levels. It's also unacceptable that you haven't had a reply with some commitment for action to correct the gross misplacement of the ads.
Chris H.

Chris,
If Verizon's On Demand is like Bright House On Demand, it's a third party system they use... not really something they can control.

You're right to complain and on the "Kids On Demand" channel, they should only offer trailers for G rated movies. If you went to a theater to watch a Dora movie, they would not run the Saw trailer there... so why should they on Demand?

Just be prepared to write additional letters if Verizon passes the buck.
