Of course there’s a ton of malpractice in journalism today. Lots of dumbasses carrying notebooks. But a competent journalist brings far more to the table than the knowledge of others. And the good journalists I’ve known have a far larger fund of useful information and knowledge (occasionally even wisdom) than humbug professors like Picard. And, like so many dusty dons, Picard (no Jean Luc) puts all his erroneous nonsense into a bone-achingly boring package. No wonder narcolepsy is epidemic on college campuses.
