Problem with your argument is... that there will be a 2010 ballot initiative which will change the legislation pertaining to the redistriction of seats. This initiative will be driven by perticularly left leaning organizations which are tired of the Republicans being in charge. It would put a committee in charge that is un-elected.

Gov. Charlie would like to avoid some of the problems that Florida is facing (insurance, gambling, budget short falls) and the US Senate would be a nice place to run too. What's the deal with his appearance with POTUS? It would help his reelection for governor.. but might help him in the Senate.

Who is more liberal? Mel or Charlie? I'm beginning to wonder. (But that would be another discussion)
