Marco Rubio needs your help!

Dear Friends of Irreverent View:

As you know Marco Rubio is putting up a spirited challenge to Florida’s leadership-challenged Charlie Crist in a race for the U.S. Senate.

While Charlie wind-tests nearly every issue, Marco Rubio is a principled conservative who shares our view for a smaller government, an end to reckless deficit spending, and a common-sense approach to the issues facing our state, our nation, and our position in the geo-political scene.

Whether or not you believe in every position of Marco’s, you can rest assured that his votes in the U.S. Senate will be based on his heart (not some poll), and with an eye on preserving and expanding the opportunities for future generations — not protecting the special interests.

As conservatives, many of us sit idly by and watch political theater play out by keeping up with the daily news, listening to talk radio, and talking with our friends. Still fewer get involved by attending G.O.P. meetings, and working as volunteers for campaigns. And even fewer make a monetary contribution to a candidate.

Unfortunately in politics, money talks. While Marco doesn’t have to raise an equal amount of money to Charlie Crist and his special-interest Washington money-machine, he must remain competitive. Financial resources allow him to spread his message through mail, traveling across the state, printing materials, and having a small staff to help get the job done.

Today I encourage you to open your wallet or purse and send a message to the “leaders” of our party (remember, they’re the ones who got us in the mess we’re in right now), by making a financial contribution to the Marco Rubio for Senate campaign. You can make your contribution on-line using a credit or debit card. Please do so now as the quarterly reporting cycle ends next Wednesday. No contribution is too small. A contribution of $5.00 will help Marco reach out to 15 voters!  A $500 contribution will help him reach 1,500 voters! So please do what you can and do it today!
