I wonder what examples of "liberal, unconstitutional policies" Mikehicks can offer to back up his myopic claims?

Having just finished Ann Coulter's new book "Guilty:Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault On America" I can come to one conclusion, this is her best book yet. I have previously read "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans" and "How To Talk To A Liberal(If You Must)", both of which I received as Christmas presents. The chapter in "Guilty" which deals with issues surrounding single motherhood and it's affects on society is backed up with indisputable evidence and solid statistical data. I do believe that Ann Coulter cares more about the state of this country than herself because Ann, like myself, knows the root cause of all the problems this country faces today are liberal, unconstitutional goverment policies and stands up to do something about it.

Likewise, I have always appreciated a provocateur. George Carlin is a great example of one. Socrates was such a person as he milled about Athens explaining to people why their arguements were flawed and thus infuriated them in the process. The difference between the ancient provocateurs and the modern-day conservative-media intelligencia is that the Coulters don't challenge their audience to think and improve their means of reasoning. Rather, pundits like her merely feed the dogs the dog food they want they all lap it up. Modern pundits are trained to hone their message to an ever-shrinking target audience. This process is the antithesis of challenging minds on a mass scale. Personally, I just can't stand how she berates those who dare to disagree with her views.

On the central point regarding chilren raised in a one or two-parent home, my views on this are a bit mixed. I was raised in a very "nuclear" family. My parents have been married for 49-years and are technically still married even though my mom is in a nursing home now. It seems to me that duration of marriage isn't a true indicator of success of marriage. Many of the older generations stayed together long beyond their point of diminishing returns. However, where children are involved, parents should always go to the mat to make it work.

As a father myself, I am forced to think like one and say that a child does indeed need a father. Pragmatically, in the modern economy, I think it's too hard for a single parent to work and raise a child solo. People do it, though and I have enourmous respect for those who accomplish that. I can't judge anyone, therefore, who chooses to have a baby by themselves. Children are lifes greatest reward and no one should ever be deprived of the opportunity. There are exceptional cases where restraint is in order, such as the Iowa mother, who through IVF, had octuplets. Although as someone with some knowledge in this area, I blame her doctor more than her for putting back so many embryos during the transfer. But these types of exceptions aside, I think these decisions are between individuals, their spouses (if applicable), and their god.
