In desperate move, Bunting pats self on back and tells some whoppers. Former union thug makes up charges because the facts aren’t on his side.

In today’s Tampa Tribune, Pasco’s resident-bully Bill Bunting makes a number of claims in a letter to the editor in response to my column about the N.R.A.’s endorsement of his opponent, Steve Simon for Pasco state committeeman to the Republican Party of Florida.
Bunting’s diatribe is full of a bunch of self-congratulatory nonsense, and I expect voters in Pasco County who know Bunting will be rejecting him this Tuesday in his re-election campaign for GOP committeeman. I’m guessing Bunting knows this too.
Bunting makes the false claim (he lied) when he says, “Ingram supported Crist while I supported Rubio.”
Anyone who knows me or reads my columns with any frequency knows I am no Charlie Crist fan. I first publicly expressed my disdain for Charlie in a column in February 2009 — long before it was cool, and before I had a convenient option to go with someone else — as Bunting did.
Over the years, I have referred to Charlie as “Chuckles the clown” and “Too-tan Charlie” among other monikers. The St. Pete Times once wrote something about how I’m certainly not on Charlie’s Christmas card list.
In the fall of 2009, at a quarterly meeting of the RPOF in Orlando, Bunting asked for, and I gave him a t-shirt I had made up of a drawing of Crist as Pinocchio that had a caption underneath it reading, “You can’t spell Charlie without L-I-E.”
These are hardly examples of things a “supporter” of Crist would do. You know it, I know it, and Bill Bunting knows it.
And herein lies the problem with Bunting. He’s a bully, a liar, a nutcase, and a soon-to-be electoral loser.
Marion Hammer, head of the Florida N.R.A. told me earlier in the week that she had had enough of Bunting because he represents himself as being the N.R.A., when he’s not. She further added he repeatedly opposes N.R.A. endorsed candidates with whom he has a personal vendetta with — despite their being solid A+ candidates on gun rights issues.
“Bill Bunting is trying to claim this [the N.R.A.'s endorsement of Simon over Bunting] is a personal vendetta, to divert attention from the truth. The truth is NRA is fed up with him pretending to work for NRA while actually working against our legislative goals and legislative candidates. Ultimately, everything Bunting does is to help Bunting not NRA.” Hammer said.
Bunting’s letter to the editor never denied he’s a bully. Funny ha? Maybe he’ll pack his bags and move back to New York City where he came from. I bet the NYC sanitation workers labor union (where Bunting used to be a union steward) will hire him back. He makes a great thug after all. Perhaps learned at the time he spent at Rykers Island prison.
Update: yesterday an alert reader e-mailed me a list of the N.R.A.’s approved firearms instructors in Pasco County. Bill Bunting’s name was not on it.
